Throughout the history of humankind, there aren’t many spiritual leaders who have sacrificed their life tirelessly to endeavour peace and tranquillity to people. This is the core reason why Amma has millions of followers from across the globe. According to sources, Amma’s immense spiritual and humanitarian presence has been strongly regarded for decades, especially in Southern India.

Amma is fondly called the “hugging saint” or “mother to all '' because of the unconditional love, selfless service, and words of wisdom that pours to Amma’s devotees. Mata Amritanandamayi resides at Amritapuri Ashram. It is the spiritual home to Amma disciples where they are embraced and consoled. People from all over the globe flock to Amritapuri to seek Amma’s darshan. With utmost calmness, Amma listens to all about their agonies, problems, uplifts and blesses them.

Azeez, a well-known author, and social activist had a chance to meet Amma in person at Calicut in 2017 when he was selected as President at Kozhikode district football association. Azeez was fortunate to be invited to Amritapuri Ashram as a guest. Amma’s elegance and unconditional love made him accept the invite humbly. He travelled to Amritapuri in Kerala, to experience Amma grace and blessings.

Azeez says, "One will be speechless with the warm greetings they will receive on their visit. The welcome that one receives on entering the divine center is exceptional. It can make anyone feel like a close adherent or family member." Mr. Azeez felt the same. On the day of Darshan, he got the preference to sit near Amma. And listening to all the glorious words for hours which moved him completely. A special fondness was shared, and Azeez says he was lucky enough to get exclusive time with Amma which has been one of the most momentous days in his life. Where Amma narrated Amma’s different phases of life and spiritual journey.

As an active social and cultural worker, it was fascinating to experience the charismatic world of kindness. Moreover, the care, and love created at Amritapuri Ashram during Amma compassionate speeches delivered to the millions of seekers, is divine. The atmosphere created during the darshan is an experience of itself.

Anyone is welcome regardless of what and where you are from; all that mattered was humanity. For Amma, love binds every living thing, and that’s the sustaining element of life. This close acquaintance left a lasting impression on the man to a great extent. Azeez felt a significant bonding with the motherly saint, and the whole experience remains a remarkable day of his life. For instance, the ideology which Amma values by creating a difference and transforming human minds from different walks of life with the power of love has been engraved in his heart forever.
