Seasoned Cinematographer, Wildlife Photographer and Documentary Filmmaker Saptarsshi Prattim’s debut directorial venture Destination Zindagi is all set to release on leading OTT platforms in Association with Manann Dania Films.

STORY: It is the journey of a widow, Asha Santosh Shinde (Tirrtha R. Murbaadkar) and her role as a wife, mother and grandmother who goes through many ups and downs in life. Her story gives us a glimpse of the life of an average Indian woman.
REVIEW: ‘Destination Zindagi’ is about Asha’s story that many of us will relate to. Its message for the youngsters is loud and clear; the young generation should not dream about anything without putting in the essential hard work. But most importantly, they should not expect their parents to continue catering to their needs and comforts throughout their life.
Director Saptarsshi Prattim’s social drama is a tribute to all the mothers who are working even after retirement to earn a living for their children. Minutes into the movie, you will see a story of one such woman, Asha Santosh Shinde who has retired from her job as a nurse. Her husband Santosh Shinde (Harish Kulkarni) passed away early on in life; when her son Manav (Rammnik Singh) was young. Asha is the only breadwinner of the house as her son Manav just dreams of becoming a cricketer like Sachin Tendulkar and doesn’t offer a helping hand in the household. Her daughter-in-law Rupali (Shivankita Dixit) takes care of the house and dedicates her time tending to the needs of her daughter Roshini (Disha Pasi) so that she makes something out of her life. This sounds like the everyday life of any individual, right? It is a simple yet relatable story.
Female protagonist Tirrtha R. Murbaadkar is impressive in living her part as Asha Santosh Shinde. Prattim’s story had the potential. Some of the dialogues by Sandeep Dey are impactful, especially the intense conversations between Asha and her son Manav. Debutants Rammnik Singh and Shivankita Dixit did their respective roles justified.
Overall, the maker’s sole intention is to send a wake-up call to the younger generation to focus on their life’s journey, fulfill their dreams and reach the desired destination without relying on their parents. Director Saptarsshi Prattim’s Destination Zindagi is a social drama that essays the poignant relationship between a son and her mother; a 60-year-old widow who despite all the hardships is ready to go that extra mile to keep her family afloat. Her journey as a wife, mother and grandmother towards a meaningful destination is a story that many of us will relate to. A never-ending saga of an Indian woman and her struggle. Aptly supported by Tirrthaa Murbaadkar, Rammnik Singh, Harish Kulkarni, Shivankita Dikshit and others, playing leading roles in the film.
Director Saptarsshi Prattim’s film as a cinematographer in Sanjay Mishra’s Amma Ki Boli is already there on Amazon Prime. Destination Zindagi also marks the debut of actor Manann Dania as an Associate Producer. Manann has done lead roles in many short films and music videos for labels like Zee Music, T-series, Venus, Pocket films etc.
