Centre set up to develop detailed framework on 'Right to Repair'

In a bid to emphasise the Lifestyle for the Environment (LiFE) movement through sustainable consumption, the Department of Consumer Affairs is taking a step for developing an overall framework for the `Right to Repair`, according to an official statement by the department.
The right to repair in India is aimed at empowering consumers and product buyers in the local market, harmonise trade between the original equipment manufacturers and the third-party buyers and sellers, emphasise on developing sustainable consumption of products and reduction in e-waste, the Consumer Affairs, Food, and Public Distribution Ministry statement said.
