'He doesn't show interest in me'

Dear Diana, I am 19 years old. I have been friendly for the past six months with a guy in college. He is also 19. I think I am in love with him.

But whenever I try to drop hints, he behaves rather odd. He makes me feel like I’m doing something wrong by expressing my feelings. Should I continue with the friendship and express my feelings after a while?

Dear Pramaani,
It looks like your guy does not want to be in a relationship for now. At 19, he has his fears and apprehensions. This is the reason why he is not reciprocating your feelings. He perhaps does not know how to react and you feel he is behaving in an odd manner. At this stage, it is better to be friends with him rather than think of spending your future with him. He wants to concentrate on his studies which should be a priority in your lives for now. By doing all this you stand the chance of losing him as a friend. After college, think about taking it to the next level.
