Dear Diana, I am in love with this girl who happens to be a distant relative. We bond really well.
She’s a dentist and I’m working as a software engineer. We are doing well on the financial side. The only problem I guess will be from our families’ end. I’m sure they won’t agree to our union. She is my aunt’s brother-in-law’s daughter. So that makes her my cousin’s cousin. What should I do?

Dear Tabrez,
She is not your first cousin. She is from your aunt’s in-laws side, so there should not be a problem. You are assuming that there will be a problem. Broach the subject with an elder in the family, or with your aunt. I don’t think there will be a problem. If both of you are in love and want to spend the future together, you should take the initiative and voice your feelings.
Diana will solve it!
