One in five women prefer wrapping their lips around a tasty treat than their partner's mouth on Valentine's Day, suggests a new study.

In the survey for Weight Watchers Australia, 17 per cent of Australian women admitted they would prefer to spend an evening indulging in their favourite foods than spend a night in with their partner, reports the Courier Mail.

The poll set out to discover women's attitudes to indulgence and love this Valentine's Day.

It revealed that while many women like to regularly indulge in their favourite foods, at the extreme end, many of them are married to their treats to the point where they have become their preferred partner.

The poll revealed that 24 per cent indulged sporadically, as if indulgent foods were a ''one time fling'', 37 per cent enjoyed them every few weeks like a regular ''food affair'', 31 per cent said it was a once a week habit and eight per cent were married to the idea of eating indulgent foods each and every day.
