Are you falling out of love?

Are you falling out of love?

When a relationship is new, sparks may fly and passion may be at boiling point.

But when familiarity begins to breed contempt for those 'quirky' mannerisms you found so adorable and the spark starts to fade, is it best to walk away or should you try to give the kiss of life to your relationship?

Users on MY Sun's Woman forum thought long and hard about this heavyweight dilemma, says The Sun.

HDS_MkII speaks from the heart, and reckons flying solo is the right choice: "It's better to be on your own than with someone you don't love.

"Honestly, this is from very recent history with me."

"Being on your own isn't such a bad thing anyway," agrees bitterbird. "Better to be alone and happy than with someone and unhappy."

For -Catrina-, a voyage of self-discovery could be just the tonic: "You either stay together, maybe as friends but perhaps eventually building a little resentment ... or you make a break, try being on your own for a while. Learn who you are and what you want, reports The Sun.

"Sometimes being in a loveless marriage/relationship can be more lonely than actually being on your own."

Going against the grain, rick-roller just likes the company even if the other person doesn't rock his world: "I don't think it's so black and white.

"Sure, if you're in a marriage that isn't working then you should end it. But with regular relationships I think A LOT of people just coast along once the spark is gone, as reported in The Sun.

"I've sometimes stayed in stale relationships just because it's nice to have someone to come home to, even if they aren't 'the one.' You can be in a relationship and be bored, or be single and lonely. I know which one I'd rather have."

Similarly, boabywan can't see the harm in staying: "If you enjoy being together and don't feel you're missing something then it's better than being alone.

"If you think you want the whole love thing too then you need to be honest or you will only make things worse in the end."

tears_of_an_angel has been with her partner for 17 years, and has a word of warning for anyone who chooses to stick it out in a loveless relationship: "I do not love him anymore, and when he says it to me I don't even answer him anymore.

"In the end you will feel bitter and twisted towards them."

Cynical koolgirl feels looking after number one should be everyone's priority: "You come into the world alone, you leave it on your own."
