Dear Diana,
I am a 21-year-old girl. I love this one guy I've been seeing over the past four years. The problem is that my parents have caught us thrice and they have hit me a lot. They dont send me anywhere out even with my other friends. I even tried committing suicide to show my mom that I truly love that guy, but it seems my mom isn't even bothered if I die. I cannot stay without him in my life which is why I lie to my parents so I can go meet him. My mom tortures me a lot. I feel as if I am in a sort of jail. I'm in pain over the last three years and can't take it anymore. Please don't ask me to go away from him. I want to marry him.

Poo
Dear Poo,
Two things. One, you're old enough, by law, to make your own decisions, which may include who you choose to marry. Two, if you are living under their roof and are dependent on them, you will have to abide by their rules. If the guy you love is also of legal age and can provide for himself and you (by that, I mean he should have a stable job with a decent enough salary should you not have a job to supplement his income) should you get married, then by all means, find a way to be together. Take friends into confidence. But also ponder over what you're doing. Eloping means your parents will lose face. Is this guy worth that?
I'm scared she will say no
Dear Diana,
I work in an international call center. I'm in love with a colleague. I don't know anything about her nor does she know about me. I haven't told her anything just as yet. Don't know whyu2026 maybe I'm scared she'll refuse me. What should I do?
Rohit
Dear Rohit,
People just don't imagine that there's a soulmate out there for them. They make sure that soulmate walks right into their arms. Regardless of circumstances and consequences, they find that person and tell them what's in their heart. If you're too late, you'll lose out without having ever known if she loved you back. What's worse?
She's adamant about not being my girlfriend
Dear Diana,
I'm a 22-year-old guy. I love an 18-year-old gal. I told her that I love her but she said she doesn't want any relationships as she loves somebody else who has refused her for many times (and is still waiting for him). We live in separate cities. We talk for about an hour everyday. She says she misses me, that she likes meu2026 we exchange kisses over the phone, but she's adamant about not being my girlfriend. I don't want to lose her!
Dennis
Dear Dennis,
She's being stupid and bullheaded about this whole thing. As are you. She's refusing you for someone who has said no to her several times over. You're refusing a potential future with someone who might actually love you back in the hope that she sees reason someday. That's very silly. If she wants to be jilted, fine! Why are you being such an idiot?
