Dear Diana, I'm a 19-year-old student. My brother recently met with a road accident which has resulted in a financial crisis at home.
He was the sole bread winner of the family since my dad is retired and my mom is a housemaker. I don’t know how we’ll manage as we have no security cover. I joined a call centre to add to the family income but my performance is below par (according to my boss) and I’ve been asked to quit. I don’t know what to do next. Maybe I should leave my studies and join some place as a full-time employee?

Dear Avkash,
It must be very difficult to be in a position that you are right now. Financial security matters a lot and you must be thinking that giving up studies completely will ensure you have time for having a full-time job. My advice to you would be that you should talk to your friends and get as much help as possible. If they don’t, then you should get a bit hard on yourself and prove your boss wrong. Nothing is impossible provided you are putting in your 100 per cent. This may still sound hopeless but believe me, giving up on studies should be your last option, if at all. Work harder and you’ll definitely succeed in managing your life as well as your mom’s.
