Dear Diana,
I recently joined a media production company as an intern. Being a mass media student, it was almost like a dream come true. But there is a catch here. You see, the person I report to at work is a Grade A jerk. He doesn't care about low-rung folks like me. It's only his people he cares for. I sometimes feel like quitting right away. Anyway, not many in the office say kind things about him thanks to his way of functioning. But then I can't do much except work and learn the ropes under him. Sometimes I wish I could confront him.u00a0

Dear Tausif,
I understand your position and your need to quit ASAP. It is rare to find an understanding boss... it has something to do with being in control and the power. As you are just starting out, a confrontation will do you more harm than any good. None of your colleagues will support you. I suggest go by the motto of 'live and let live'. Try and learn as much as you can and stick on for at least a year, and then make a move. I know it is difficult and won't be easy. But if you think you can't take it and he gets unbearable, then call it quits. But before that look for another job.
