Dear Diana, My wife and I always have conflicts. Every time I try to say something which is good for her, she always ends up criticising me. I love her and want the best for her
On the contrary, she always tries to teach me things I already know. She doesn’t even know how to deal with things when we visit my parents. She doesn’t talk much and doesn’t like if I stay at my folks’ home for a long time. I respect her family but I can’t see the same respect from her side. Even her parents are only concerned about their daughter and not about me or my family. Sometimes I wonder whether agreeing to an arranged marriage was a mistake.

Dear Ameen,
For anything amiss in a relationship, one person can’t be responsible, so you need to have a frank chat with your wife. Talking is the best solution for solving the problems in any relationship. Make her understand what you feel about the situation. You both might be suffering from misunderstanding and over expectations. You seem to have a fixed perspective about marital life but reality is proving to be different. You will have to learn to cope with it. You have expectations about how your wife should behave with your folks, etc. There is also the issue of a communication gap. She thinks you don’t understand her while you think she can’t understand you. It’s better to get things sorted out than lead a life of strife.
