Podcast of the week: 2 Dope Queens
Comedians Phoebe Robinson and Jessica Williams' chemistry is known for being spontaneous and multi-hued. A subtle sense of wit often flows from their friendship.
Every Tuesday, the ladies release an episode deconstructing popular culture, films, sex and celebrities. There are guests who join them in the mission. This podcast is a roller-coaster of banter. They mock just about everything under the sun — Tinder manners, being black and attending a Billy Joel concert and even the questionable sex appeal of the Bahamian singer- songwriter Lenny Kravitz. Robinson calls him hot but Williams thinks otherwise.
Bob the Drag Queen (who won the reality TV show RuPaul's Drag Race) and New York-based comedian Anthony DeVito are the guests in this 26-minute episode. They form a hilarious panel through their conversations on cinema, entertainment and personal lives. "I am disastrously single. I am working on my career. I only date tall white guys with beards," DeVito laughs.
All the episodes are recorded at their live shows in Brooklyn and then, uploaded as a podcast.
