Awaiting your kin’s arrival and have time to kill? Hang out at one of the cutesy, temporary rack-like outposts located outside the Departures and Arrivals gates. If you can’t spot these, buy a pass (Rs 60, valid for four hours, according to CSIA website) to get access to the one inside the terminal. Try their Mochaccino (Rs 170), Iced Americano (Rs 150) along with freshly baked croissants, muffins or a Vegetable Toastizza (Rs 210).

At Level 2, near Arrival Gate, inside the terminal, Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA), Andheri (E).
Note: Visitors need to buy a pass from Meeters & Greeters (Level 2, Arrivals) for the outpost inside the terminal.

Get your seafood fix as soon as you touch down. Relish prawns and pomfret in Goan or Malwani curries (Rs 645 onwards) or taste other regional flavours in the Murgh Chetinad (Rs 445) and Mutton Rogan Josh Kashmiri (Rs 495). The spacious restaurant includes a well-stocked bar, and offers Chinese and Continental cuisine too. Though a tad pricey, it’s perfect for those who wish to enjoy a quiet meal far from the city’s madding crowd.

It’s easy to spot the two-storey restaurant, located at the intersection of Airport Road and the Andheri-Kurla one. With velvet upholstery and crystal chandeliers adorning the ceiling, the 180-seater restaurant, established in 1978, offers an extensive eats menu featuring tandoori platters, Dostan Thaal (for Rs 2,300), varieties cooked in the clay oven, Raan specialties and equal options for veggies too.

Craving Sarson da Saag-Makke ki Roti or need an Old Monk at 3 am? Then, plonk yourself on one of the kitschy mattress-covered cots in the terrace section or the cushy sofas on the first level of the restaurant. Along with a dekko of old-time Bollywood and Hollywood posters (from Dev Anand’s Johny Mera Naam to Charlie Chaplin’s The Kid), the menu offers varieties like Baigan Bharta (Rs 260), Veg Patiala (Rs 260) and Dhaba-style Desi Chicken (Rs 900).

Step into the pocket-friendly café, nestled under the bustling Marol Naka metro junction, and you might feel a sense of déjà vu of the European trip you’ve just returned from. From Nutella (Rs 89) and Peanut Butter (Rs 79) to Salami, Sausage and Egg (Rs 99), Tuna (Rs 149) or Veg Conti (Rs 79), relish a range of fillings in fresh bagels along with Hot Chocolate (Rs 85) or Hazelnut flavoured Cold Coffee (Rs 85). It’s perfect for a quick dash prior to check-in too.
