Shiny Disco ball
>> Sequins, shine, '80s glamour and disco are one of the biggest trends of 2017 that work best for a party wardrobe. You can also combine other trends, such as nature-inspired motifs and futuristic style with it. Think sequin floral patches or metallic space-age trousers. Throw in a jacket or wear boots with a sequinned dress to make your outfit look different from others.

>> Instead of wearing typical strappy dresses, try new silhouettes to stand out in a sea of LBDs. Flared pants can be worn in various ways for different body types. You can also wear a luxurious silk or velvet pyjama set, slip into heels, carry a sling mini bag and you are good to go.

>> Dresses don't need to always be feminine and pretty. Deconstruct your dress - wear an asymmetric number, pair it with a rugged jacket, a cape or a flow-ey layer.

>> Try a hint of feather or fringe, either on your sleeve, at the hem of your dress or even in the form of a belt.

>> Less isn't always stylish, you can go all out with accessorising or make-up to uplift a basic shift dress.

>> Choose the colour of the season and go head to toe in red. You can also play with different tones of red - a dark shade for the heels, bright matte for your lips and your outfit. If you love colours, go multicolour and pick different solid colours for separates.

Body language
>> For an hourglass figure, belt your waist to accentuate your curves, and strike a balance between styles. Pair flared pants with a snug crop top, for instance.

>> If you are bottom heavy, play with prints, colour or embellishments on your upper body. Bold trumpet sleeves will also draw the attention away from your lower half.

>> For plus-size, lighter fabrics and flow-ey silhouettes will soften the curves. Flare or pleats add a swing to your step. Jumpsuits and asymmetric cuts work well for this body type.

Add movement to your outfit with feathers, fringe or pleats like Deepika Padukone. Red is an all-time winner

Finishing touches
>> Make-up can be the highlight of your outfit. Purples and violets go well with the Indian skin and will stay popular next season too. You can either try a purple eyeliner or a shadow. For an edgier look, try a matte or glitter purple lip colour.

>> Pick sling purses in the shape of small cubes or spheres.

>> Shoulder-duster earrings will help make a statement - the bigger and bolder they are, the better.
