We are in for a surprise when we spot apparel that resembles woollen ponchos. The seemingly warm garment, the shop owner tells us that the clientele includes those heading to Lonavala or any of the state's hilly regions. As far as ponchos go, the design is bang on, though the fabric, thankfully, is a mix of woollen and cotton, but could still be a tad too warm for the weather right now. Wear a solid spaghetti top inside, even though the fabric doesn't irritate the skin. The tassels at the base add a nice touch.

These poncho-inspired tops are more apt for the current weather. We like the cotton mix and the flow of the top, which has armholes, unlike a poncho. But, the cut is such that it almost looks like one. The inner lining not only ensures that it falls perfectly, but you also don't have to worry about wearing a camisole despite the translucent fabric. You don't feel hot wearing it, which is a bonus. What we like most is that they all have an accessory attached — some include a chain, while others have dressy buttons near the neck, adding an edge to the design.
