A recent launch by indie platform Boss Lady Cosmetics, the ‘playstix’ come in a variety of vivid hues and a formula that’s easy to build up. The makers say it works just as well with or without primer and can be used across the face.

We tried the shimmery and matte formulas (Rs 725 each) and appreciated the rich colour pay-off. For darker skin tones, you would need to use concealer or a base for the colour to come through. The shimmery sticks were not as vividly pigmented as the matte ones. If you have oily, hooded lids, the product will slide into your creases and look patchy.
