With Diwali just around the corner, the New Wave Paithani Festival is every saree shopper’s dream destination. After a two-year hiatus, the festival is back with more than 150 original handloom Paithani sarees including the classics as well as the modern styles in pastel colours, blacks and greys, golds and whites to target younger shoppers. The 31st edition of this festival has also seen the launch of New Wave Paithani Bespoke that encourages you to ‘make-your-Paithani’ with the weavers and thus, support fair direct trade. These skillfully crafted sarees cost between Rs 10,000 and Rs 3,50,000. Incepted in 1989, the festival aims to encourage handloom Paithani and protect the economy of the weavers from Yeola in Nashik district.
