With the world moving online, Bengaluru-based theatre hub Ranga Shankara’s festival for kids has also gone digital this year. In its 11th edition, the Aha! International Theatre Festival for Children, which kicked off earlier this week, features a host of interesting programmes that cater to the interests of various age groups of kids, as well as the adults who work with them.

On offer are five virtual productions including Golla by Mumbai-based Sananda Mukhopadhyaya?for two-year-olds and above, When The Colours Ran Away by Kolkata’s ThinkArts (ages four and above) and Der Apfelwald/The Applewood by Germany’s Schauburg Theater for Young Audiences (five-plus), among others. “We’re having one play premiere each day up till July 25. They’ll stay up for a week,” shares programme associate Samyuktha Manogaran.

There are also webinars for caregivers, educators and artistes, such as a session on making theatre for toddlers which took place recently, and the upcoming talk, titled Enough!, which will focus on the impact of screen time on kids. “There’s also an online theatre-making workshop for kids, called Tabletop Stories and an indoor Scavenger Hunt, among other events,” Manogaran reveals.
