Leading choreographer Vernon Monteiro will teach enthusiasts to take their first steps in locking, popping and urbane, street-style moves

If you enjoy watching reality dance shows on television where participants perform unimaginable moves from the hip-hop genre, and would secretly like to give it a shot, an exclusive masterclass by celebrated choreographer Vernon Monteiro might be what you should consider signing up for.  Monteiro, who was the dancer on whom the movie ABCD2 was based, shares, “At the workshop, we will teach a specially choreographed routine, with breaking and other kinds of styled elements. The steps we will teach are based on a video for Dino James, the rapper-songwriter.”  The class is among a series of workshops by Breezer Vivid Shuffle, one of India’s first hip-hop leagues as part of its School of Shuffle.

Monteiro and his team of dancers have won several coveted dance shows such as India’s Got Talent Season 3, Boogie Woogie, and Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch bhi Karega. Monteiro began dancing at the age of 15 from the streets of Nala Sopara, and formed his dance crew in 2006. He has also worked with leading Bollywood artistes, and even won an award in a televised award show. 

The fifth season of Vivid Shuffle will also include other interesting workshops where experts will share with prospective artistes their know-how and tips on how to master their skills. Some of the enlisted  experts include Mekhola Bose, D’Evil (of Gully Gang fame) and Sagar Bora.
