A Police inspector and a constable of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) were arrested by CBI's anti-corruption bureau officials for allegedly demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 25,000 from a travel agent on Monday.
The arrested persons, inspector BB Sirpor and constable Santosh Mani, are attached to RPF’s Crime Branch at the Pune railway station. The anti- corruption bureau received a complaint from Vinod Kale, a travel agent.

The complainant had lodged complaints against ASI Todkar, head constable Pise, constables Pujari and Mani. “Sirpor directed Mani to collect the bribe. We laid a trap and caught him red-handed,” CBI officials said. The other two, Todkar andPise will be arrested after certain procedures are completed.
According to the CBI, the policemen were demanding ‘hafta’ from the travel agent for allowing him operate his agency. They had threatened to shut his business and book him under the Railway Act, if he failed to pay the bribe.
The court has remanded the duo to police custody till April 5. They have been arrested for offences under sections 120B (criminal conspiracy) of the IPC and other relevant sections of Prevention of Corruption Act.
