The Cantonment Court remanded gangster Babloo Srivastava, one of the accused in Sagar Ladkat abduction and murder case, in four-days judicial custody yesterday and ordered that he be handed over to the Uttar Pradesh police, and would be lodged in Bareilli Central jail.
Srivastava was brought to the city after the court issued a production warrant against him in the Ladkat case. Ladkat, son a petrol pump owner, was abducted in Wanwadi and hacked to death on May 22, 1998.

Srivastava was in jail at that time, but the police claim he executed the plan using his men on the outside after the Ladkats refused to pay extortion money.
“We produced him before the Judicial Magistrate (First Class) Jyoti Kotnis of the Pune Cantonment Court and he was remanded in judicial custody. The court ordered to hand him over to the UP police and instructed that he be held in the Bareilli Jail, where he has been since 1995,” said Police Inspector Sunil Patil of the Crime Branch (Unit II).
A police officer from UP, who escorted the gangster into the city for trial, said that they have left for Uttar Pradesh by train with Srivastava and he will be handed over to the jail authorities there.
