Ludhiana: A 55-year-old man allegedly shot dead his mother, wife and daughter over a property dispute before turning the gun on himself, police said today.

The bodies of Sandeep Singh Mangat, his mother Bachan Kaur (70), wife Amandeep (47) and daughter Dilnaj (18) were found this morning by their domestic help at their residence in Bhai Randhir Singh Nagar here, police said.
Ludhiana Police Commissioner Jatinder Singh Aulakh, who visited the spot, told media persons that after preliminary investigations, it appeared that the whole incident was sequel to a property dispute going on in the family for a long time.
The cases were pending in the court, he said.
The police officer claimed that Sandeep, who was allegedly a drug addict, was suffering from depression for the past several months.
He allegedly used his double barrel gun to commit the crime. The weapon has been recovered from the spot, police said.
