Mechanic booked for raping teenage girl

A teenage girl was allegedly raped by a mechanic under the pretext of marrying her, police said.

On the complaint of the victim against the accused Yogesh Machirke, police booked him under relevant sections of IPC including rape, March 31.

According to police, Machirke and the victim had been into sexual relationship over a period of time, but he later went back on his word.

Police said the victim foiled the accused's plan to marry another woman when she filed a complaint against him yesterday.

The accused is absconding and a search is on to trace him, police said. u00a0
