The principal of a primary school was arrested for hitting a five-year-old student with a stick for having missed classes.
A principal of a primary school at Fatehnagar was today arrested on allegations of meting out corporal punishment to a five-year old student, police said.

Following a complaint by the mother of the student, principal Mumtaz Ahmed, who also runs the school, was arrested.
Ahmed allegedly hit the boy with a stick resulting in bruises on his back as a punishment for reportedly not attending classes, Sananthnagar police said quoting the complainant.
Police has registered a case under 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means)u00a0
