Three cases of chain-snatching reported in 1 day

Gold ornaments collectively worth Rs 2.8 lakh were reported in three incidents of chain snatching from the city and Pimpri-Chinchwad on Saturday.

The incidents took place at Chinchwad, Bhosari MIDC and Warje wherein bike-borne miscreants made off with the valuables after snatching it from their victims.


Chinchwad
In the first case, two young men on a motorcycle snatched a gold chain worth Rs 60,000 from a 60-year-old woman, Suchita Narvekar, a resident of Sudarshan Nagar in Chinchwad. The incident took place at 7.30 am close to her residence.

Shahu Nagar
In the second incident, Shahu Nagar resident Saraswati Nadar (33) was deprived of her gold chain worth Rs 70,000 after two bike-borne men snatched her chain at 4.45 pm.


Warje-Malwadi
The third incident happened a few hours later at Warje-Malwadi. Two young men on a bike snatched a gold chain worth Rs 1.5 lakh from Kalavati Dorkulkar when she was riding pillion with her husband on their motorcycle. The victim’s husband registered a complaint in this regard at Warje-Malwadi police station. u00a0
