Thakur was standing and talking to some of his students near his academy, when the teenager attacked him with a knife. The victim resisted and other students tried to stop him too, but the boy overpowered Thakur and stabbed him again in the back as well as in his abdomen.
The teenager then fled and people rushed Thakur to Bhaktivedanta hospital. Meanwhile, local residents informed the police who arrived at the spot. Later, the boy surrendered at the Kashimira police station and confessed to stabbing Thakur, cops said. “We have seized the knife used in the assault and the accused has been booked under various Sections of the Indian Penal Code and sent to a correction home,” a senior police officer said.
