A fresh case has been registered against former Axis bank manager Anil Dubey for criminal breach of trust at Valiv police station after staffers found shortage of Rs 26.84 lakh during an audit on Friday.

Dubey is in police custody for looting ICICI bank of Virar and allegedly killing its manager Yogita Chaudhary and grievously injuring cashier Shraddha Devrukhkar on Thursday night.
The zonal Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Sanjay Kumar Patil confirmed the development in the case and said, “An FIR has been registered against Dubey as there was misappropriation of funds during the audit.”
Sources at the Axis bank told mid-day that the currency notes of 2,000, 500, 200 and 100 denominations were found missing from the Naigaon branch of Axis bank during routine audit of cash.
The complainant in the case registered an FIR under sections 408 (criminal breach of trust by clerk or servant) and 409 (criminal breach of trust by public servant, or by banker, merchant or agent) of the Indian Penal Code by the Cluster Head of Axis bank Burzin Dadimaster on Friday night.
An Axis bank official told mid-day that an internal enquiry has been initiated. Dubey was a manager of the bank’s Naigaon branch, before he was sacked.
