Mumbai South was lowest with 11 per cent, while Mumbai North West saw highest voter turnout at 16.46 percen. The overall voting percentage at 11 am was recroded 12.59 which also includes Thane and Kalyan constituencies.

Anil Ambani was one of the first to cast his vote from Mumbai South when the voting began at 7 am on Thurday. Congress NCP candidate Milind Deora too cast his vote. "In Mumbai South voter turnout is more in the morning. We are expecting people with turn up to cast their vote as the day progresses," an election officer said.
In past few days, resident activist campaigned hard to encourage people of South Mumbai to vote in the morning and only then leave for the weekend holiday.
The candidates contesting the 15th Lok Sabha election from South Mumbai are Milind Deora (Cong- NCP), Mohan Rawale (Shiv Sena- BJP), Bala Nandgaonkar (MNS) and independent candidate Meera Sanyal. While the candidates from North West are Gurudas Kamat (Cong-NCP), Abu Azmi (SP), Gajanan Kirtikar (Shiv Sena-BJP) and Shalini Thackeray (MNS).
