Cops issue guidelines for Mumbaikars to prevent terror attacks for festive season starting with Ganeshotsav
Beginning with Ganesho-tsav on August 23, the next few months of the festive season will be a testing time for the police.
And following intelligence reports of the possibility of a terror attack on the city, the Mumbai police have issued 26 guidelines for citizens to prevent untoward incidents.
Call a cop
The guidelines instruct citizens on dealing with suspicious objects at public places.

u00b7u00a0Do not insert anything in the suspected box or bomb.
u00b7u00a0Do not try to touch the wire that can be seen in the box.
u00b7u00a0Do not keep anything near the unidentified thing.
u00b7u00a0We do not know whether the box will look same as it looks from outside. There is a high possibility that it might be a bomb.

u00b7u00a0Do not use radio, wireless and mobile near the bomb.
u00b7u00a0Do not put flash or any light on the suspected object.
u00b7u00a0Do not allow anybody to go near the object unless the authorities do not check the object.
u00b7u00a0Stay at least 100 meters away from the suspected bomb.
u00b7u00a0Do not spread rumors.
u00b7u00a0If there is a bomb in a residential building, calmly empty the building without creating chaos in the area.
u00b7u00a0Put of the gas connection if possible.
u00b7u00a0You never know that there will be more bomb place in the vicinity.

u00b7u00a0Bomb squad will detect the suspicious object of whether it is an explosive or not.

u00b7u00a0Do not bring the suspected box to the police station.
u00b7u00a0Keep an eye on the movement of new tenants in your building, if found anything suspicious inform the police.
u00b7u00a0Do not touch pen, tarnsisrtor, mobile phone, Tiffin, cooker etc. it can be a bomb.

u00b7u00a0If you find abandoned articles like bags on buses and trains, infirm the authorities immediately.
