Avith Martis, Aquino's father, told MiD DAY, "My son was being treated by psychiatrist Harish Shetty for psychological problems after he fell from the fifth floor of our earlier home in Andheri (E) 10 years ago.
He had severe head injuries and a BP problem. Apart from that, my son is healthy."
Dr Shetty, however, said, "I don't remember Aquino." Aquino is recuperating at Bhagwati Hospital. Avith claims his son is innocent. "Reports of my son stealing Paloma's ATM card, and withdrawing money from her account are false. We are a well-to-do family and my son does not need to steal money," said Avith.
He added that he did not know Paloma. The police said that Aquino will be charged with murder and attempted suicide.
