A fan of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Mehta starts her day by reading the newspaper and watches news channels to keep herself updated about the current issues of the country. She also encourages her family members to use their voting right.
“If one wants to change the system, then one should definitely vote. Without doing your duty, you cannot blame the system. As a citizen of India, everyone should come out and use their voting right. I have been voting for more than 40 years,” said Mehta.
Her granddaughter-in-law, Mallika said, “Despite being over 100 years old, she is still quite energetic and is enthusiastic about voting. She also voted in the Lok Sabha polls.”
Down with dengue but not out
26-year-old Swapnil Bhor has been hospitalised since the last two days, after he was diagnosed with dengue. While doctors have advised him to take at least another two days of bed rest, the Grant Road resident remains adamant and has decided to cast his vote in the early morning.

“I am quite weak but want to cast my vote. My single vote is very precious and will definitely change the system,” says the Yuva Sena member. Bhor has been working for the Shiv Sena for the last five years, and had joined the Yuva Sena when it was formed two years ago. “The state does not need Yuti, but UT (Uddhav Thackeray) and my vote will also be useful in bringing that change.”
