The Shiv Sena trade union has warned that it would not allow Bata to run its outlets till the decision was revoked.
Bata employees have refused to report to work since Wednesday, February 11. They also forced to the company showroom in Bhiwandi to close down, restraining the supply of goods to the city.
"Bata has conspired to show the sons-of-the-soil the door, and recruit outsiders," alleged BKS general secretary Albert Pinto.
"The company is going to replace permanent employees with contract labour. We will approach the labour minister to take action against Bata. The workers will not allow the outlets to reopen till the company revokes their dismissal."
