Ulhasnagar police arrested a 65-year-old cable operator, Hardas Kharwani (in pic) for televising pornographic movies on his cable channel.
The accused, owner of Lal Sai cables in Ulhasnagar, was apprehended on Wednesday after the police raided his office and recovered CDs of blue films from his office.
According to the police, the accused would even defame some of the political leaders from the vicinity by making slanderous speeches against them through the broadcast medium.

In August, last year, a written complaint was made against Kharwani for similar charges, after which he was let off with a warning. After a month, however, Kharwani was broadcasting blue films and making slanderous speeches.
Cops carried out a raid at Kharwani's cable office after receiving complaints from residents in the area.
"When we entered the office, Kharwani tried to assault Senior PI Siddharth Wagh.
So along with charges of televising blue films, Kharwani has also been booked for assaulting a government servant," said an officer.
"We have arrested the accused under Sections 291 (continuance of nuisance after injunction to discontinue), 292 (display of grossly indecent matter), 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), of the IPC along with a section of the Information Technology Act," said Wagh.
Kharawani was produced in court but was later released on bail.
