Local train services on Mumbai central line went for a toss during the evening peak hour at around 6.30pm after a Kalyan-bound train stopped between Diva and Kopar stations after a couple of its coaches became uncoupled and separated from the entire 12-car train.
The CR suburban services on down slow line were disrupted at Kalwa station from 6.30 pm on Monday evening. Commuters were largely affected as trains were not running on time and there was about 25 to 30 minute delays.
Sources said that train couldn’t be rejoined and hence an engine was called to pull the coaches towards Dombivali station.
Thousands of commuters were inconvenienced as slow trains were hit. The trains on slow line were diverted on the fast line, thus also leading to bunching in on the fast corridor.
