Classmates of Mukeem Khan (19), an HSC (Science) student, find it almost impossible to believe that the boy who used to sit next to them in class is no more. But what has shocked them even more is that the suspected killers are none other than their college mates, Shaikh Sarfaraz (19), and Shaikh Amir Siddiqui (18), students of Rizvi College, Bandra.

K Varghese, vice principal of Rizvi College added, "On Monday, I heard from one of the peons that a student from our college had gone missing, but I thought it was a rumour. Later, we were shocked to learn that Mukeem wasu00a0 murdered."

Varghese said that a professor had told him that Sarfaraz came on February 13 to attend his practicals; sat in the second batch and left in a hurry in just 30 minutes.

"It was a Friday and as most of the students came in lateu00a0 because they go for namaz, we didn't question Sarfaraz's delay. We give more timeu00a0 to students on Fridays," said Varghese.

Mukeem's classmate said, "I still can't believe Sarfaraz who was such a close friend of Mukeem, killed him. They used to sit together during lectures. They were backbenchers and belonged to a group of four. As far as I know, Mukeem did not have bad habits, but I have seen Sarfaraz smoking. But yes, Mukeem was caught copying in FYJC."
