Vinayak Vittan Koldivilkar (47), a traffic police constable committed suicide at Worli Police Camp by strangling himself from the fan.

The body was discovered two days after he committed the act. "Koldivilkar hanged himself from the fan with a lungi, two days after returning from his home town.

We rushed to the spot as soon as we received a call from the control room and found him hanging from the fan. We then took him to Nair Hospital," said Sudhir Mahadik, inspector from Worli police station.

Mahadik added that the body had begun the process of putrefaction.

"He was suffering from diabetes and perhaps, because of that, took this way out," said Mahadik.
Koldivilkar is the fourth of its type in the Worli police camp in a span of two months.

"Dad had come with me and mom to Ahmedabad. He was depressed for a long time as he was suffering from diabetes. He committed this act under depression," said Sagar, son of Vinayak Koldivilkar.

Officials from Nair Hospital also declared that the disease was the reason for the suicide.

"According to his medical history, he was suffering from diabetes. The body was rotting when it was brought to us, so we have been unable to detect anything else," said au00a0 doctor from the forensic department of Nair Hospital.
