BEING suspended for a few years did not stop an ACP attached to the Naigaon police headquarters from repeating his mistake of allegedly transferring his juniors through a fake order. He now faces an inquiry, police action and another possible suspension.
ACP (Administration) Dhanraj Vanzari has written a letter to his superiors at the police headquarters accusing ACP Khushal Sapkale of issuing a fake order for the transfer of four constables.
Sapkale had the additional charge of administration when Vanzari was on leave between January 15 and 18.
When Vanzari resumed duty, he realised that on January 15 the day he left Sapkale had issued an order transferring four constables on deputation to company number P-1 (10).
The constables are Uttam Kishan Sandbhor (company number 1), Vasant Shyamrao Dhole (company number 13), Shivaji Gyandev Hodshid (company number 3) and Shivaji Balwant Desai (company number 5).
Vanzari checked the records and found that the order (number 207) was not mentioned in any register and, thus, was fake. He then requested that the transfer order be cancelled and an inquiry be initiated into the matter.
He also suggested that an FIR should be registered against Sapkale under Section 477A (falsification of accounts), with Sections 465, 468 and 420 of IPC (forgery, cheating).
DCP M J Bhoir has now written a letter to Sapkale (copy with MiD DAY) asking for clarification on the issue. He has also reminded Sapkale that he had been suspended for a similar incident in the past.
The Other Side
Sapkale said, "There is nothing wrong with the transfer. The constables asked for it in writing and I acceded to their request after getting an approval from my superiors.
Besides, I also have powers to transfer people. Vanzari is infamous for these types of allegations in our department. He keeps accusing people of various things without basis."
DCP Bhoir and ACP Vanzari could not be reached for comment as they were on leave.
