Amit Mohan, the servant, who was employed about 15 days ago, is the prime suspect and has been absconding after the incident.
The elderly couple Charan Kundanani (79) and Kamla (69) had hired Mohan on the reference of a building watchman, to mainly assist the bedridden Charan, according to the police.
"The neighbours or the victim's relatives have no clue on the details of this person," said the police.
However, on questioning the watchman, the cops found out that Mohan is a resident of Fatehpur, UP. A photograph has also been recovered, which may help nab the accused, the police added.
Mohan on Thursday had allegedly ransacked the cupboards of the Kundananis after chocking Kamla with a dupatta and suffocating Charan with a pillow.
Police say that another servant, employed to wash clothes for the couple, found the bodies and raised an alarm.
Pradeep Suryavanshi, senior police inspector, Andheri told MiD DAY, "Most senior citizens are scared to give us information about themselves. However, they must understand this would help us protect them better."
"We have distributed over 3,000 forms to senior citizens, asking them to register details of their servants, including photographs with the police."
"In fact we have also requested them to provide us with the details of all those who come to their houses, includingu00a0 relatives, friends and even delivery boys.
