In a first for the city, groom ensures his Labrador's name is on card; invites Lab's friends for the receptionu00a0
It's a maroon and gold wedding card, innocuous really, except for what's inside. The invite reads, 'Fidget Bipin Parmar and Chakshu Bipin Parmar invite you to the wedding of their brother Ashishh'.

In a first, certainly in Mumbai, Fidget, a dog, sent out a wedding invite to guests for the reception on February 21. Said his 'brother' and the groom Ashishh, "Fidget is family; he is not just a dog and I had to have him at the reception.
And then, of course, came the invitees. Of the approximately 200 people at the wedding, 18 were dogs. "I take Fidget, who's a Labrador, for a walk every day, around my building complexu00a0 in Malad (W).
We meet several other dogs, also on a walk, and I decided to have them over as Fidget's guests. However, I told the owners that they could come only if their dogs came along," grinned Parmar. For good measure, the wedding invites were made out in the dogs' names.
The only glitch was that Parmar could not find a wedding hall willing to host dogs. "I looked at several banquet halls, but none agreed to have dogs. Finally, I held my wedding reception at my building complex," said Parmar.
Said Rohit Kapila, whose dog Lance was a guest.
"It was an awesome experience. Here was a person who actually treated dogs as friends and didn't just sermonize. Lance had a blast." Added Abhishekh Duhan, who attended the reception with Tyson, Mona and Sweety. "The dogs were so well looked after. There were special food stalls for them with boiled eggs and Pedigree!"
Parmar, however, confides there were people who refused to attend as the invite had been sent out by Fidget. "A few relatives did not come, and I know why, but tell you what, I don't care!"
