Mumbai: In another case of suicide in Bhoiwada, a man committed suicide after being duped by his friend, who had assured him to hunt for a house.

Surrendra Rakshe (36) committed suicide at his residence at Naigaon on Tuesday afternoon. Surrendra who started residing here three months ago was previously staying with his two brothers in Kalachowky. He had borrowed large amount of money from his brothers to buy a new house during that period. He then handed over the money to his friend who promised him to look for a new house. As his friend cheated him, he committed suicide.
Surrendra, who separated from his wife Mukta Rakshe (27) a year ago, ran a general store in Kalachowky. Assistant police inspector from Bhoiwada police station said, “he stayed alone in his house where he locked himself. We received a call from control room after which we rushed to his house, broke open the door and found him hanging from the ceiling.”
Surrendra was brought to civic-run KEM hospital where he was declared dead at 2.30 pm. Uddhav Surve, investigating police officer said, “we will investigate his relatives and the friend to whom he gave the money.”
