33-year-old man, arrested for abducting neighbour's son, confesses that reports of unsolved cases in the media were his inspiration to commit the crime

There is no such thing as a perfect crime but previous transgressions can always guide one to committing a perfect crime, was the belief Hemant Sanghoi had, as he revealed that the inspiration behind abducting his neighbour's son were previous unsolved kidnappings.

The 33-year-old unemployed man who was arrested for abducting his neighbour's 14-year and demanded Rs 35 lakh as ransom, allegedly to impress his wife by gifting her jewellery and a house said that reading similar crimes in the newspapers led him to commit the crime.
According to police officials from Kasturba Marg, who arrested him after tracing his phone calls, said that Sanghoi had admitted to the crime and disclosed that newspaper reports and previous unsolved cases was the reason for the crime and that it was the only crime that he could have committed.

Senior Inspector Rajendra Thakur, Kasturba police station, said, "Sanghoi had taken Bind to a house near
Sangli station. After reaching Sangli, the two walked for 20 minutes to Sanghoi's house when he made the ransom call to Bind's father. It was this call that we traced and were able to find him."
The case
According to investigations, Sanghoi, in an attempt to raise money to impress his wife with jewellery and a house abducted Bind on Saturday in Borivli (East).
He requested Bind to accompany him to an outing, to which Bind agreed because Sanghoi was a family friend. On Monday, Sanghoi called Bind's father Sajjan and demanded a ransom of Rs 35 lakh.
