Madhuli: No more bidding for Rasila Mehta

A special court on Friday denied Harshad Mehta's mother Rasila Mehta from bidding for her son's inter-connected flats at Madhuli building in Worli.

The court cited non-submission of earnest amount of Rs 80 lakh mandatory for any bidder to bid for the flat up for auction, as the reason for denial. The Supreme Court on Thursday had accepted Rasila Mehta's plea and had allowed her to bid for the flats.

Today, four bidders quoted their price for the eight flats up for auction. Prakash Mehta, along with Asin Ghosh, quoted the second highest bid of Rs 32.5 crore.u00a0

However, Ashok Samani, a well-known stockbroker won the bid at Rs 32.6 crore.u00a0

Although, Samani is the highest bidder, he does not get the confirmation being the owner of the Madhuli flats because of the ongoing case of Jyoti Mehta (Harshad Mehta's wife) in the apex court.
