Proposal demands stringent rules for behaviour in the House, and that corporators be frisked at high security areas
Corporators may soon have to be on their best behaviour in the BMC. If a proposal is approved in the BMC, corporators will also be frisked at high security areas and there will be stringent rules about their behaviour in the House. Additional Municipal Commissioner (city) Pallavi Darade has put forth the proposal before the civic group leaders’ committee.

This proposal has its roots in an incident that occurred in February on the floor of the House. The Deonar dumping ground fires were raging at the time and the Opposition had cornered the ruling parties over the issue. One corporator, Nayana Seth from the Congress, dumped a pile of trash on the Mayor’s table.
