CIDCO says it plans to allocate the homes via lottery system for its ongoing housing project in sector 36 in the next 15 days

Navi Mumbai: 3,154 homes in Kharghar up for grabs

The City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) will soon announce the date for allocation of flats via lottery system for its under-construction housing project, Swapnapurti, in Kharghar.


Spread over 7.97 hectares in Sector 36, the project houses 3,154 homes of which 2,450 are meant for Low Income Group (LIG) and 704 units will be reserved for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS). The project is expected to conclude by 2016.


Confirming the development, CIDCO Public Relations Officer Mohan Ninawe said, “We are planning to start the allotment through lottery system in the next 15 days.
Since its launch in August to the last day for submission of applications in September, we received over 85,107 forms. We had sold over 1.5 lakh application forms.”


The area of housing units varies from one income group to another. While the EWS will have houses admeasuring 28.6 sq m, the LIG will get houses that are 34.36 sq m. The prices have been set at R15.78 lakh for the EWS and Rs 23.19 lakh for the LIG. The LIG will get 32 buildings of 15-storeys each, against 22 buildings with seven floors each for the EWS.

Earlier, mid-day had reported that the per-square- foot rate charged by the CIDCO was no different from the existing market rate.

As per the calculations, the rate per square foot in Swapnapurti housing project, close to Taloja, were pegged at Rs 5,124 against the existing market rate between Rs 4,500 to Rs 5,500.
