According to police sources, the fight took place between a union from Kharghar and another from Taloja area. Those from Kharghar asked the Taloja auto drivers not to park their vehicles at the station, as it was their jurisdiction. The entire matter started with a verbal fight, which soon turned into a physical one. Sources claimed that even a constable from Kharghar police station was injured in the process. However, Dilip Kale, senior police inspector, said that nothing of that sort happened.
Kale said, “The fight was between two auto-rickshaw unions over parking their vehicles at the station. We have taken cross complaints and are investigating the matter. We will soon call a meeting with both the union leaders and get the matter sorted.”
