A WEBSITE www.eldess.com catering to the needs of the elderly, especially those whose children are located in other cities or countries, was launched on Friday. Roopesh Kumar, CEO and founder of Agewell Technologies, which created the website, came up with the idea while trying to assist his own parents when he was away on work. He brought together focus groups to access the needs of the elderly. Health was declared a concern.u00a0

As the first of such offerings, Eldess has launched the entire range of healthcare needs arranging for a general physician for a home visit, organising a specialist like a cardiologist, providing for alternate therapies, and discussion forums (where queries pertaining to various relevant topics including serious ones like Parkinsons can be answered).

Kumar further said, "Services start with medical aide, computer literacy and providing trusted people to help with odd jobs at home. We are also planning to bring in services in real estate, retirement planning, entertainment and security for the elderly."

As a part of their computer literacy programme, Eldess plans to teach the elderly computer basics so that they can use software like Skype to stay in touch and even video conference with their loved ones who live far away.
