The repair work on the sewerage pipeline is expected to be completed by the end of May. Officials opted to start work from May 3 to facilitate repairs to the century old sewerage line, keeping in view of the holidays and end of the polling process in the city.
The BMC had previously attempted to repair the sewerage line resulting in massive traffic chaos on March 29. Subsequently, the chief minister had put the project on hold.
According to the new traffic plan, Gamadia Road will be one way from Gopalrao Deshmukh Road towards Bhulabhai Desai Road. The north-bound traffic will be diverted via Gamadia Road.
Motorists have been requested to cooperate by using an alternate route - Kemps Corner-Stephen Church, American Embassy to Cadbury Junction.
