RInfra to distribute electricity in Mira-Bhayander area

The Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC) has granted Reliance Infrastructure Limited (RInfra) the license to distribute electricity in and around Mumbai's suburbs

The Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC) has granted Reliance Infrastructure Limited (RInfra) the license to distribute electricity in and around Mumbai's suburbs.

The licenses are valid for 25 years till August 15, 2036. With the new license, MERC has expanded the existing area of distribution to include Chene and Versova that fall under the Mira Bhayander Municipal Corporation.

In an order dated August 11, MERC expressed satisfaction on the compliances of criteria by RInfra, as stipulated by the Electricity Act 2003.
