An official added, "We are trying our best but the strong winds and continuous downpour has made it very difficult. However, we are trying to ensure that flights get delayed as little as we can."
Yesterday morning, the 8 am deadline was extended to 12 pm as bad weather continued to torment the salvagers who were working day and night.u00a0
By afternoon, the construction of the pavement to remove the aircraft from the mud that it was stuck in was completed. But owing to bad weather, the deadline was further extended to 5 pm.
Meanwhile, it wasn't all bad news at the airport. Much to the relief of passengers, flights ran on schedule.
