Talkning about his meeting with the new BMC chief, Raj Thackeray said, "We spoke about several questions pertaining to Mumbai. Mehta has great decision-making capability. The BMC needs a person like him and I have a lot of expectations from him.
"I told him that the BMC should suspend some ward officers who are not afraid of anything and that has given rise to lot of illegal construction, hawkers across the city and other civic issues," he added.
Thackeray said that he had complained about the Ghatkopar highway area having several illegal marbles shops but no action had ebeen taken yet.
"I was telling the ex-municipal commissioner Sitaram Kunte but nothing happened. I called up Uddhav Thackeray too and told him that the BMC should take note of this," he said.
Regarding the controversial draft DP 2034, he said that the party would be sending a letter seeking people's suggestions about the reservations in their area and submit it to the BMC.
